ITAM & GAMH Unite for Traditional Medicine Advancement

On November 4, 2024, the Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine (ITAM) at UHAS welcomed a delegation from the Ghana Association of Medical Herbalists (GAMH) for a key stakeholder meeting at the UHAS Administration Block. Led by Dr.(MH) Prince Osei, Vice-President, and Dr.(MH) Ronald Yeboah, General Secretary, the GAMH team joined ITAM representatives to discuss avenues for collaboration aimed at advancing traditional medicine practices in Ghana.

The meeting underscored the mutual goal of enhancing Traditional and Complementary Alternative Medicine (TCAM) through focused efforts in education, advocacy, and research initiatives. With GAMH’s expertise in herbal medicine and ITAM’s commitment to supporting the integration of TCAM into the national healthcare system, this partnership is poised to set new standards for quality and innovation in the field.

This collaboration aligns with ITAM’s mission to optimize healthcare through TCAM integration, further empowering practitioners and promoting sustainable healthcare solutions in Ghana.
