On March 8, 2024, a group of students from Hastings College, USA, paid a visit to the Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine (ITAM), UHAS, to learn about traditional herbal medicine, its usefulness and efficacy in human beings.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Harry Tagbor and other members of Management welcomed them and wished them well in their study and stay in Ho.
Mr. Alfred Agyemang, a researcher with ITAM, briefed and interacted with the group about the workings of the institute and the various types of plants and products used in traditional medicine.
The group later toured the Center for Plant Medicine, other herbal centres in Ho, and several tourist sites including Amedzofe, Mount Gemi, Klefe Forest and Wli Waterfalls, and other interesting attractions.
