DIY Citrus-Infused Water

Citrus water is a great way to stay hydrated and enjoy a burst of natural flavor. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lime
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Wash the Citrus Fruits: Rinse the lemon, orange, and lime under cold water to remove any dirt or residue.
  2. Slice the Citrus Fruits: Use a sharp knife to slice the lemon, orange, and lime into thin rounds. You can keep the peel on for added flavor and aroma.
  3. Prepare the Mint Leaves: Wash a handful of fresh mint leaves and gently crush them with your fingers to release their oils and fragrance. This will add a refreshing twist to your infused water.
  4. Assemble the Ingredients: In a large pitcher, place the citrus slices and crushed mint leaves. You can add a few additional citrus slices for garnish if you’d like.
  5. Add Ice Cubes: Drop a handful of ice cubes into the pitcher. The ice will help keep the water cool and refreshing.
  6. Fill with Water: Fill the pitcher with cold, filtered water. You can fill it to the top and then gently stir the ingredients with a long spoon to distribute the flavors.
  7. Let it Infuse: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours to allow the flavors to infuse into the water. For an even more robust flavor, you can let it infuse overnight.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Once the water is infused to your liking, pour it into glasses filled with ice cubes. You can garnish each glass with a citrus slice and a sprig of fresh mint.
  9. Refill: You can refill the pitcher with water a couple of times before the citrus slices and mint lose their flavor. When the flavors start to weaken, simply add fresh slices and mint.

This citrus-infused water is visually appealing and a delightful way to stay hydrated throughout the day. It’s a healthier alternative to sugary drinks and a great way to enjoy the benefits of hydration and a touch of vitamin C.

Remember, you can get creative with this recipe by adding other fruits like berries, and cucumber, or herbs like basil or rosemary. Enjoy your homemade citrus-infused water
