TMPC, Ministry, Nana Sumankwaahene Rally 1,000 for Ashanti Licensing

The TAFHA Ashanti Regional Mass Registration Programme was held in Kumasi, Ghana, on August 10, 2026. It aimed to register and license traditional medicine practitioners, bringing together nearly 1,000 participants. The initiative promotes regulation and compliance within Ghana's traditional healing sector.

The Acting Registrar of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC), Dr. (MH) Yakubu Tobor Yusuf, participated in the TAFHA Ashanti Regional Mass Registration, Licensing and Sensitization Programme held at the Apatakese Hall, Cultural Centre, Kumasi- 10th August, 2026
The programme was organized by the Trad-African Faith Healers Association (TAFHA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and the Traditional Medicine Practice Council, with Nana Sumankwaoehene serving as one of the leading traditional authorities who supported and organized the programme.
It brought together close to 1,000 participants, including traditional and faith-based healers, practitioners, and other stakeholders in the traditional healing sector.
The initiative seeks to promote the registration, licensing, sensitization and regulation of traditional medicine practitioners, while encouraging practitioners to operate within the appropriate regulatory framework.
Addressing participants, the TMPC reiterated its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to build a recognised, professional and regulated traditional healing sector in Ghana.
The Council continues to encourage all traditional medicine practitioners to register, renew their licences and remain compliant with the laws and regulations governing traditional medicine practice in Ghana.
