Food consumed by children could be medicine or a slow poison – Dr. Nana Achiaa Ankrah

Dr. Nana Achiaa Ankrah, an agrofood expert, has urged parents to be mindful of their children’s diet, emphasizing that the food a child consumes can either serve as essential nourishment for growth or act as a slow poison.

She advised parents to carefully select the types of food they provide to prevent potential deficiencies and ensure their children receive the nutrients necessary for healthy development. According to Dr. Ankrah, choosing the right meals is crucial to supplying the essential vitamins and minerals that support a child’s overall growth.

She highlighted the importance of nutrient-dense foods, which should include vitamins, minerals, complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Dr. Ankrah also emphasized the role of whole grains and cereals in providing children with the vital nutrients their bodies need to function optimally.

“The happiest children are often those who are well-fed,” she noted. “When kids are given meals they enjoy and cherish, it not only promotes their well-being but also allows parents to focus on their daily activities without unnecessary stress.”

Dr. Ankrah praised Arise Foods as a leading supplier of high-quality family meals, describing their products as natural, organic, and rich in essential nutrients aimed at enhancing children’s health, energy levels, and overall wellness.

She urged parents to prioritize nutritious diets for their children to support their growth and development, underscoring the importance of consistent effort in providing balanced meals.

Arise Foods, she explained, is a brand introduced by Saliscom to combat child malnutrition in Ghana, providing a reliable source of nourishment to support the health and wellness of families across the country.
