When the blood supply to portions of your brain is blocked or ruptures, denying brain tissue oxygen and nutrition, 32,000 brain cells die in a matter of seconds, and functions controlled by that area of your brains, such as speech and muscular movement, are hindered or lost.
Because of the longer-term impact of stroke-related impairment on the quality of life of the afflicted individual and the stress on the patient’s family, stroke in young people have catastrophic repercussions.
