Herbal plant farm to be established at Ntoaso

By GNA

Mr Daniel Agyakwa, an executive member of the Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers has said plans are underway for the establishment of herbal plant farm at Ntoaso in the Eastern Region.
He said land had already been acquired for the project and that the initiative would assist members of the association to have medicinal plants at their doorsteps without travelling to far places to search for the herbs.
Mr Agyakwa alias ‘Maaba Maaba,’ who had been in herbal practice for 42 years disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Ntoaso near Adoagyiri-Nsawam after the members of the association had met to decide on the next step to take towards the herbal farm project.
He said the association would also construct a Centre at Ntoaso for the treatment of patients who suffer from various diseases while offering training to the youth who were interested in herbal medicine practice.
Mr. Agyakwa stated that the training of the youth in the practice was very pertinent as they would take over from the ageing practitioners, adding that “Our forefathers depended on herbal medicine before the hospital were created.”
