KNUST: Herbal Medicine Department Holds Orientation For Freshers

KNUST being the sole University in West Africa offering Bachelor of Science in Herbal medicine held a Department Orientation for newly admitted students into the Herbal medicine program for 2022/2023 academic year

The purpose of this event was to inform and educate the freshers on the overview of the BSc. Herbal medicine program.

Amongst some of the dignitaries present includes, the Head of Department; Professor Isaac Kingsley Amponsah, Dr. Henry Sam George, Dr. (MH) Bernard Kofi Turkson, Dr. (MH) Andrews Ebo Tetteh, and the executives of the Students’ body Association. In all twenty-two first year students presented at the event.

Professor Isaac Kingsley Amponsah, gave a welcoming address and explained what the program entails as well as its career opportunities. Dr. (MH) Bernard Turkson added his voice by explaining the genesis of the program to its current state and the impact it has had in moving Ghana Health System towards achieving Universal health coverage.

The President of the student body (GHEMSA), Master Edmond Osei Agyapong took the opportunity to officially launch the GHEMSA Handbook. A mobile Application for the program course materials and a part of the information system of GHEMSA.

The event ended after a closing remark was given.
