Suspected Ebola Cases Emerge Again in Guinea

The West Africa correspondent of Nairobi’s Daily Nation reports that Guinea’s health ministry said the deaths were reported in the south of the country, close to the borders with Liberia and Cote d’Ivoire. At least one person is hospitalised in Conakry for treatment. Officials are awaiting a second test of results to confirm whether it is Ebola or not.

The World Health Organisation chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said on Twitter that WHO has been informed of two suspected cases and its Guinea office is supporting readiness and response efforts. The news came a day after WHO announced the establishment of a global Ebola vaccine stockpile to ensure quick responses to outbreaks.
