Cabbage palm is a small to medium-sized tree usually growing up to 18 metres tall but with occasional specimens to 30 metres. Ginger consists of scraped or unscraped rhizomes of Zingiber officinale. An herbaceous perennial with fleshy creeping rhizome and leafy stem, leaves distichous and subsessile on the sheaths.
